  Currently assisting with the further development of the consulting branch of Evigi Technologies, involving all network security aspects, their engineering offerings, developing vendor Best Practices Guides, courseware & certifications, introducing high level engineering training, product demo creation, support, and consulting services. Acting as the lead engineer for the testing of security and assessment of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) IT products and solutions, and training on best-of-breed technologies, including SilverPeak systems’ WAN acceleration technologies, numerous UTM devices and much more.

Have been specializing (as well as some configuration and installation projects) on some key network security products, such as McAfee’s IntuShield IPS, and the Foundstone vulnerability scanner appliance, along with the MPE (McAfee Policy Enforcer) network access control system, HIPS 6.0 (Host Intrusion Prevention).

  Successfully orchestrated the Exchange 2003 migration of Levi Strauss’ International messaging environment, focusing on the email migration & mailbox server consolidation effort. (Destination mailbox servers being in Asia, Europe, & the USA.) Espousing the highest level of Exchange support, enhancing the technical relationship with Microsoft Consulting & third party product partners, as well as creating numerous advanced VBScripts, such as query-based distribution group creation (in a mixed mode Exchange environment), scripting the entire migration process, (in the process, unmasking the need for Microsoft to create a CDOEXM patch for Exchange 2003. KB Article: 883652) thus enabling the automated worldwide migration of the Exchange 2003 mailboxes based on assorted criteria. – Changing Active Directory settings, along with logging & Administrator notification, (By Email) and numerous more. – Heavy Remedy usage for service, documentation, & change management.

Interacted on a regular basis with executive level management, assisting in the mapping of the messaging infrastructure to their business initiatives. SENIOR PRINCIPAL MIGRATION TECH LEAD –- US SENATE MIGRATION

  Led 4 migration teams for the implementation US Senate’s Enterprise Authentication and Messaging migration, which involved migrating nearly 200 of such domains to newer platforms. The job scope involved creating and training the migration teams, ensuring each team’s migrations completed successfully, being the highest level technical support, and stepping in when an issue exceeded the team lead’s technical expertise. At the same time, leading my own team in our migrations, and therefore guaranteeing that the concurrent multiple migrations completed in the times allotted. Participating in pre-install, technical, managerial and team meetings, working together with subordinates, the project coordinator, and all executive managers in ensuring the project completed within the technical requirements, budget and time constraints.

Was the Senior Migration specialist for the project in meetings with the SAA, SAs (Senator System Administrators), as well as acting as the technical “go-between” for Chief of Staff, (for each Senator) Project Managers, and all levels of General Dynamics’ Senior Executive Managers with the migration process. Was active in resolving obstacles, streamlining migration best practices, documentation, diffusing personnel flare-ups, and insuring their well being and job placement satisfaction.

Streamlined the “zero touch” ADS server rollout configuration, investigated and introduced “government level” data wiping, as it was required to be able to re-use the server media for new server installations. Successfully recovered the Senate Majority leader’s speeches, using forensic data recovery methods when the computer hosting the speeches failed.

Architecture involved a complete redundant network on all 7 OSI layers, able to survive a complete shutdown of all active devices, & function as if no error had happened! It involved a split network, so continuous backup traffic could be made along one network, while authenticated network clients had secure, full speed access to the services along a separate network! Server setup on NT 4.0 Server w/Exchange 5.5 (POP3 and OWA setup), RAS and VPN access, & new Windows 2000 based servers supplying FTP,VPN,DNS, and file/print services, as well as encrypted SSL enabled Terminal server setup (for secure connectivity from the internet). Was also closely involved in supporting the internal end users along with another consultant.

- Alamo Workforce Development, Bexar County Information Services, San Antonio ISD, University Health System, and VIA Transportation - Involved in assembling and troubleshooting Intel-based personal computers. The projects were in response to numerous bids won for multiple personal computers and printers over several years.
